Terms of Service

Last updated: October 8, 2026

Welcome to ShipItBuddy. By accessing or using our website, services, and embeddable widgets, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, browsing public ship logs, or embedding our widgets, you agree to comply with and be legally bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”) and our Privacy Policy. These Terms apply to all visitors, registered makers, and users of ShipItBuddy.

2. Description of Service

ShipItBuddy provides a developer utility platform that enables makers and software founders to document daily product progress (“Ship Logs”), build public accountability streaks, showcase shipping heatmaps, follow other builders, and embed live changelog feeds on external websites.

3. Account Registration & Security

You register for ShipItBuddy using authenticated single sign-on (such as Google OAuth). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your account.

Usernames are granted on a first-come, first-served basis. ShipItBuddy reserves the right to reclaim usernames on behalf of businesses or individuals that hold legal trademark claims or for accounts that remain dormant and inactive for more than 12 months.

4. User Content & Intellectual Property Ownership

You retain 100% ownership of all text, code snippets, links, logos, and materials you post to ShipItBuddy. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your software, startups, or proprietary assets.

By publishing ship logs publicly, you grant ShipItBuddy a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, distribute, format, and syndicate your content across the ShipItBuddy platform, discovery feeds, and embeddable widgets for the purpose of operating the service.

5. User Conduct & Acceptable Use

You agree not to use ShipItBuddy to:

  • Publish false, misleading, fraudulent, or defamatory statements about your software or others.
  • Post automated spam, affiliate link farms, malicious scripts, malware, or phishing links.
  • Harass, stalk, threaten, or impersonate other makers, developers, or public figures.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, overload, or compromise the integrity of our platform infrastructure or APIs.

6. Embeddable Changelog Widgets

ShipItBuddy provides embeddable iframe and script widgets for display on third-party websites. You may embed your widgets on your commercial or non-commercial websites provided you do not remove branding attributions or alter the widget to deceive site visitors.

7. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting support or deleting your content. ShipItBuddy reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in abuse, or threaten platform security, with or without prior notice.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability

ShipItBuddy is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ShipItBuddy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the service.
